    blob top and crude iron pontil base which has some residue, 
    professionally cleaned to excellent condition with no chips/cracks
    - only problems are a small ding between the W and Y in NEW YORK
    and a shallow 1/2" surface scratch on the back shoulder,

    Light see-thru cobalt blue glass - great color, 
    height 7�", BIM with blob top, can't tell if base is smooth or pontil but
    is probably smooth, 8 sided, lightly cleaned to excellent condition - retains
    a light bit of ground wear but no chips, cracks, or bruises.

    a rare soda and one of the oldest embossed bottles from Newport KY,

    working condition, rubber gasket is not even deteriorated,

    Aqua blue glass, height 6 1/2", BIM with taped blob top that ring below it,
    vertical ribbing all around - not seen this on any other soda,
    front embossing in oval (slug plate?), back has large "C" in oval
    base is roughed up like a cleaned iron pontil but can't be sure it
    is pontilled, almost near mint condition but does have a 3/8"
    rake scrape along one of the vertical ribs - very hard to see unless
    you look closely, no other condition problems,
    the "C." stands for "Charles",

    iron pontil base with graphite residue intact, very crude bottle with
    oblong shape (as seen in base pic), circa 1850 from Wheeling VA,
    Wheeling changed to WV after the Civil War,
    near mint condition with some light stain but no damage or case wear,

    professionally cleaned to excellent condition, no chips/cracks/bruises
    or other damage, base shows some red area where the graphite residue
    rusted, notch in top of base is a manufacturing mark and not damage,
    from Marysville CA - difficult to obtain in nice condition
    like this one, circa 1853-56, listed as rare on page 55 of Markota's book,
    embossing has been painted for highlighting (sorry - that's my
    poor paint job),

    has a small lip flake and overall dullness from being a dug bottle
    but no chips/cracks/bruises, a professional tumble would make it sparkle,
    circa 1840-50,

    left), scarce soda that has been cleaned to just about perfect condition -
    only problem is two cooling checks - one on shoulder and other on base,
    circa 1850's,

  Some history: Asher Taylor arrived in San Francisco in the early 1850's and owned
    or was employed at soda factories in both San Francisco and Sacramento until the
     late 1860's. This Taylor & co. soda was one of his mystery bottles. Records show that
     he made many trips to South America, And it is believed that on one of these trips he
    discovered a source for mineral water and had it bottled in these bottles. Possibly to be
    distributed at one of his western soda factories.

    Green glass with olive tone (unusual green for a blob soda),
    height 7", BIM with double tapered lip, iron pontil base is
    one of the crudest you'll ever see, 
    long rectangular blank slug plate below "TORAM'S",
    professionally cleaned to excellent condition - retains some ground
    wear and has a 1/4" bruise on inside of the lip (most likely the
    result of ice pick being used to pry out the cork) but no chips/cracks,
    features a "bird swing" which is a strand of glass on the inside
    that runs from side to the base, a scarce Philly soda,
    Keeper.
