      Large size card: 7"x4½". Card is in excellent condition but does have some glue stains in the four corners on the back.

   2. Acker's English Remedy / Girl under Lemon Tree Front Back
      ACKER'S ENGLISH REMEDY, A Scientific English Cure For Colds, For Old and Hard Coughs, Asthma, Croup, Whooping Coughs, Phthisical Breathing and all Lung Troubles. This has a date of September 1, 1884! The script continues to plug Acker's Dyspepsila Tablets, Acher's Blood Elixir and Acker's Baby Soother! This card is in great condition with some slight yellowing.

2. Allen's Lung Balsam
   1. Allen's Lung Balsam / Be Calm Dear
      B&W front shows father reaching for Allen's Lung Balsam (which is right beside a bottle for Davis Pain Killer) while mother comforts crying baby. Caption reads "Be calm, dear wife, baby will be relieved as soon as I can give her the LUNG BALSAM. It always relieves the worst attacks of Croup. I think every home should have at hand Allen's Lung Balsam and Davis' Pain Killer." Back has advertising text claiming it as "A remedy that will cure consumption."

   2. Allen's Lung Balsam / A Stitch In Time Saves Nine
      Color front shows grandmother stitching sock in front of fire while little girl looks on. A bottle of Allen's Lung Balsam is on a table. Front reads "A stitch in time saves nine. Allen's Lung Balsam. Take Home a Bottle as a safe and sure cure for all Throat and Lung Affections." A rug by the fire is embroidered with "Allen's Lung Balsam cures coughs, colds and consumption." Back has full advertising text. Very good condition.

3. Angostura Bitters / 2 cherubs with blonde robed lady
   Color front shows two cherubs: one holding a bottle of product and other mixing medicine with a mortal and pestel. In center is a blonde lady with brown robe. She's sitting in front of a pillar with advertising text written on it. Some fading and has been trimmed on left, but no tears. Back has album glue stains but all text readable. Advertises that the bitters of Dr. J.G.B. STEGERT & Sons has become known to the world as Angostura Bitters.

4. Appendixine / Ruler w/ bottle pictured
   This is a Calendar plus Advertising handout for Appendixine Medicine. Plus it has a ruler printed on one end. The calendar starts on July 1906 and runs to Dec. 1906. Pictures a bottle of Appendixine and a list of problems it cures such as constipation, Torpid Liver, Kidney Gravel and gall stones to name a few. Card is in excellent shape.

6. Davis Ashley's Honey Balsam / Painting by the Sea
   Victorian trade card advertising Davis Ashley's Honey Balsam (a Victorian remedy) and featuring a nice chromolithograph of a Victorian couple painting at picture by the sea. Measures 4 5/8 by 2 3/4 inches. Excellent condition - even the edges and corners are undamaged. The reverse side is in unblemished condition but has no text or graphics. SOLD.

7. Athlophoros
   
   1. Athlophoros / Booklet
      B&W 20 page booklet advertises Athlophoros Remedies. This Rheumatism medicine advertises “Where’s the Man We Can’t Cure. The outside covers are cute, the inside has a few more illustrations of children along with many reccomondations of users of this product. The booklet is in good shape, but has a creased corner and the binding is torn about a half inch on the top. Still well bound with staple binding.

   2. Athlophoros / Boy pouring out Dad's bottle
      B&W front shows young boy pouring liquid from a bottle. Caption reads "Here goes Pop's ATHLOPHORUS! Now he'll be too lame to lick me." Back advertises products of the Athlophorus Company of 112 Wall Street, New York. They claimed their "remedies" could cure everything from rheumatism to nerualgia to liver and kidney diseases. The card has two faint lines in the upper right corner, which do not go through to the other side, and are not easily visible to the naked eye. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.

   3. Athlophoros / Boy riding bottle
      B&W front shows boy riding bottle thru space. Caption reads "Where's the man we can't cure?" Can read label on bottle.

   4. Athlophoros / Man carrying oversized bottle
      Athlophoros, a medicine used for Rheumatism and Neuralgia. Copyrighted 1886. Major, Knapp & Co. Lith., 56 & 58 Park Place, New York. Caption underneath illustration, "No More Rheumatism For Me". Illustration shows a man jumping around with a bottle of Athlophoros tossed over his shoulders. He has thrown his crutches down and he has been healed. Item is in good condition, lifting on front, trimmed, evidence of having been pasted in, not affecting text on back, on thin paper stock (may be part of a booklet). A complete Calendar for 1887 is on the back.

      Color front shows two children on a pedestal with an oversized bottle of the cologne. Rear shows as sold by George G. Dort, dealer in Dugs, Medicines & Chemicals in Keene, New Hampshire. Card has rough corners, but no trims or tears and never pasted.

      1889 Victorian tradecard for Austen's Forest Flower Cologne with a nice pic of the product bottle and an angry cat being sprayed by a Victorian girl. Card is in very good condition with some staining and a corner crease. Actual card not pictured in photo, but card is the same.

      Color front shows winged cupid with large bottle of product. Back has advertising text. Excellent condition with just some minor glue stains on back.

    Front shows picture of two women reading about product. Front reads "Barry's Tricopherous ... The Oldest and the Best ... Guaranteed to restore the hair to bald heads and make it grow thick, long, and soft." Size 5 1/4" x 3". Card in excellent condition. SOLD.

    Front has color picture of black hub-shaped bottle with fancy label. There are flowers beside the bottle. Back is blank. Excellent condition with sharp corners.

15. Berry Brother's Hard Oil Finish / Knights
    Here's a stunningly colorful copyright 1891 Victorian tradecard advertising Berry Brothers Oil Finish with a great "Medieval Knights/Court Princess" lithograph on the display side, and a wonderful 18-line advertising poem on the reverse side entitled "Sir Hard Oil Finish-A True Tale of Chivalry", as well as advertising text for the product. This card is unusual not only in the stunning lithography, but is also coated with the same hard oil finish advertisied, giving it a glossy resilient finish! Measures 5 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches with no tears, stains, or marks. The reverse side (not shown) is also in excellent condition. A minimal crease of the very tip of the upper left corner is noted, but not noticeable.

    1. BILIOUSINE / Crowd looking into store display
       Color front shows crowd of people outside a store. They are looking thru the window display which has a show globe and bottles of the product. Front reads "Biliousine is a sure cure for sick headache, dysepepsia, constipation, indigestion, sour stomach, heartburn, ...". Back shows prominent citizens in New York who will testify "that it is an efficient and reliable remedy for Headache, Dyspepsia, Constipation, and Biliousness."

       Duplicate of card above. Fine condition with just a piece of album tape on back.

    3. BILIOUSINE / Cats
       Color front shows mother cat administering medice to kitten. Large labeled bottle of product on stool. Fine condition with just a piece of album tape on back.

    4. BILIOUSINE / Black eating watermelon
       Color front shows black man with stomach ache from eating too much watermelon. Very good condition with spot of paper loss on back where album tape was removed.

    5. BILIOUSINE / Ruler
       B&W front shows two Victorian ladies sitting on a blanket. Bottom of card is a 4 1/2" ruler. Front reads "Biliousine. Snow & Earle, Providence, R.I." Back has illustration of the bottle of medicine and gives all it can do. Card in good condition.

17. Bixby's Shoe Polish / Lady Columbia showing show
    Color front shows Lady Columbia showing a shiny shoe to women from different parts of the world. Large picture of bottle is also pictured. Full advertising text on back that is fully readable. Very good condition with some paper and glue residue on the back.

18. Bixby's Shoe Polish / Boy Shining Man's Shoes
    Color front shows boy giving gentleman a shoe shine. Advertising text on back.

19. Bixby's French Blue / Ladies doing Laundry Front Back
    Color front shows two ladies doing laundry and is entitled "Bixby's French Laundry Blue". Back shows picture of bottle and two cans and has a song ("jingle") advertising the product that is sung to the tune of "Walking Down Broadway". Very good condition but back has some glue residue, slight discoloration, and light pulling but all text readable.

20. Bixby's Mucilage / Pulling Man stuck to chair
    Front has picture of people trying to pull man from chair and caption reads "I bet that is Bixby's Mucilage. There is no use trying to get the chair off, better take off the pants". Back has advertising text and shows 4 different bottles. Good condition with missing corner, back has spot of paper lift.

21. Bovinine Elixir / Hold To Light Front Back Closeup of Bottle
    Card advertising 'BOVININE' Elixir, manufactured by the J.P. Bush Manufacturing Company, Chicago and New York. Color front shows an infirmed young lady by a window resting in a comfortably padded-and-pillowed chair in her robe. She has her eyes closed, and on the table next to her is a bottle of the Bovinine elixir, along with two sherry glasses, one with the medicine, and the other with water. When held to the light a picture of a bull appears, the young lady's eyes open, and the words 'MY LIFE WAS SAVED BY BOVININE' appear. On the reverse it reads "For Overworked and Insufficiently Nourished People; Overtaxed Professional and Laboring Men; Exhausted Mothers; Sickly and Feeble Infants and Children. Old Age is rendered comfortable and enjoyable by its daily use. Prescribed by Physicians all over the Union." Measures 3 1/2" x 5". Upper & lower left corners are bent, and left side has a small straight tear, less than an 1/2 an inch, otherwise in GREAT shape.

22. Boyer's Carmelite Melissa Cordial / Monks making & testing Front Back
    This is a beautiful trade card, from the late 1800's, advertising Boyer's Carmelite Melissa Cordial Rich graphics by Donaldson Bros. Excellent condition with advertising on the reverse. There is some overall glue staining on the reverse.

24. Browns Camphorated Saponaceous Dentifrice / 3 Victorian Women photo of another example of same card
    Great chromolithography of a three fancily dressed Victorian women admiring a bottle of product on a pedestal. Back has advertising text that partly reads "Keep this handy, it may save a life" and explains how it can help with sunstroke, choking, and fainting. Excellent condition with no damage but some light stain on the back. Circa 1880s.

28. Dr Brownings C & C Cordial / Sick man w/ woman Front Back
    Late 1800's Victorian trade card for Dr. Browning's C & C Cordial for coughs and colds. W. Champion Browning, M.D., 1321 Arch St., Philadelphia, PA. Illustration on front of a Doctor assisting a sick man. He is looking at his stopwatch attempting to get the mans pulse rate. A bottle of the above mentioned product sits on the table. Dr. Browning's Tonic & Alterative is advertised on the cards back. Very Good condition, evidence of gluing, crisp with no tears or creases.

       Buckingham's Dye Folding Trade Card! Nashua, N.H. Ca. Approx. 2 1/2 x 4 1/2". 1880. Also advertises Hall's Vegetable Sicilian Hair Renewer on the back. Card is in very good condition.

    Colorful front shows girl in red cape picking ripe figs from bush. Booklet goes on to describe why women and children prefer figs. Manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Company of San Francisco, Louisville, KY and New York, NY. This was for sale in 50¢ and $1.00 bottle by all leading Druggists. Back of card has black and white illustration of the product in its box. Very fine condition - only problem is number "104" written in blue ink on the back.

34. California's Golden Age Hair Reproducer / Man with flies on head Front Back
    Color front shows two men at table and woman combing out some of her long hair. One man has flies above his bald head. Bottle of product on table.

    Lady's father. - Oh my! I wish I had hair enough to keep off these insects from my head!
    Lady. - See there, I have pulled out another comb full of hair, I wish I could stop it.
    Lady's Husband.- Do as I do; use the GREAT CALIFORNIA GOLDEN AGE HAIR REPRODUCER AND TONIC. It will save your hair and make it grow as good as mine.

    Back has advertising text, including "$1,00 REWARD for any Poisons found in any of our articles." Company was S. Brown & Co in Los Angeles. Card in very good condition except some paper loss in bottom left and top right corners. Back text full readable.

35. Carbolic Smoke Ball / Metamorphic
    This English metamorphic tradecard advertises the Carbolic Smoke Ball, which POSITIVELY cures coughs, colds, catarrh, asthma, bronchitis, hoarseness, throat deafness, influenza, croup, whooping cough, and headache. Fine condition.

36. Victor Carbolic Smoke Ball / Billhead
    A 6 x 6 1/2 billhead from the Home Office and Laboratory in Atlanta. Ad copy states cures "catarrh, bronchitis, asthma, neuralgia, croup and colds". Some damage and staining.

37. Wine of Cardui / A Southern Belle Front Back
    Colorful front shows picture of lovely Victorian lady. Copyright 1903 by The Chattanooga Medicine Co. Back has advertising text: "McElree's Wine Of Cardui / Take and be healed / The Great Spirit Planted It / Woman's Relief / The Most Astonishing Tonic for Women known to Medical Science". B&W back also shows picture of Victorian lady and Indian maiden.

38. Carolina Tolu Tonic / Bearded Man No PIC Yet
    Picture of a beardedman with a very large head, covering his chest in color and coming down to his waist. On the bottom it says Carolina Tolu Tonic. The back of the card it says Carolina Tolu Tonic, the best remedy for Pulmonary Disease, and General Debility, connected with loss of appetite and strength. Sold by all grocers and druggists @ $1.00 per bottle etc. etc. H BROCHOFF & CO. No. 93 Wall Street New York. Card is 2-1/2" x 4" and in good condition.

39. Carter's Liver Bitters / Sarah Bernhardt
    B&W front shows picture of Sarah Bernhardt, The Queen of the Theatre. Although the card is made in shades of violet, her beautiful countenance is entirely majestic. A Trade Card for Carters Liver Bitters, and according to the advertising on the back of the card, "Will make you eat", cure dyspepsia, liver complaint, and all diseases caused by Malaria. The back of the card has the full advertisement. (Lith. by) Klim, Linder & Bauer, 10 Warren St. N.Y. Condition: Front is Very Fine, back of the card has mounting stains. 3 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" long.

       6" x 3 1/2" ink blotter for Carter's ink. Front says "Call for CARTER'S" and "Raw materials are brought from all parts of the world" and pictures different people from around the world. The Carter's Building is also pictured. Back is plain. Very good condition with a piece torn from front that prevents telling what city in South Carolina this is from (but I believe it is Anderson).

    2. Carter's Ink / Calling for Carter's
       6" x 3 1/2" ink blotter for Carter's ink. Front says "Call for CARTER'S" and pictures different people from around the world. Back is plain. Excellent condition.

    3. Carter's Ink / Labeled Master and Inkwell
       Colorful front shows labeled master ink bottle and labeled cylinder inkwell with box. Front reads "Call for Carter's - New blue black fountain pen ink ...". Blotter is in mint condition.

      Front pictures old man pushing 2 grand kids in wheel barrow. Back has advertising. Two small holes in card, but overall in very good condition. This was apparently the front cover of a little booklet since part of back says "read the following pages". For Sale $12.

    • Carter's Little Liver Pills / Man feels great, Woman has headache
      Front shows cepiatone picture of couple getting dressed. Wife is amazed that husband could have been out so late the night before and be bright and chipper while she is hung over. Of course, it is because he takes Carter's. Advertising on back for product which begins "Carter's Little Liver Pills WILL CURE ..." . Card is in excellent condition. For Sale $15.

42. Cary Family Medicine
    
    1. Cary's Indian Vegetable Liver Pills / Two School Kids No PIC Yet
       Front has color picture of two Victorian school children: a girl whispering to a boy. Front reads "Use Cary's Indian Vegetable Liver Pills - anti-bilious cathartic. Cures dyspepsia, headache, fevers, liver complaints, and purifies the blood. Sugar coated. ...". Back advertises the other Cary family medicines: Barrell's Indian Liniment, Barrell's Vegetable Worm Confections, Cary's Indian Eye Salve, Cary's Cough Cure Troches, Cary's Indian Vegetable Tooth Ache Remedy, Cary's Healing & Strengthening Salve, and Cary's Buckeye Condition Powders. Company was located No 51 Main St, Corner Second, Zanesville, Ohio. Card in excellent condition except for two creased corners. For Sale $7.

    2. Cary Buckeye Powder / Puzzle Card
       B&W front shows outdoor scene of man looking at woods and lake. You are suppose to find various animals (turkey, frog, ...) and "a bottle of Barrell's Indian Liniment" in this puzzle card. Back has advertising text for the entire list of products offerred by "Cary's Family Medicines". Very good to excellent condition.

       "After the fair.....imitating the showman". Kash is the artist. Size is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4. There is some light stain on the reverse side. Issued by Bodine, the druggist in Danbury, Ct.

    3. Cas-car-ria Medicine / Dog & Girl drive off devils
       Older trade card with color litho front that shows girl and her dog chasing devils over a cliff. The dog has "Cas-car-ria" on his collar. The devils are named after the different diseases that can be treated with this medicine: liver complaints, kidney diseases, debility, ... The back of the card starts "Cas-car-ria is worth its weight in gold" and then has 3 phrases followed by "Isaak Walton - born 1593 died 1683". Card is in fine condition. Measures 2 1/4" x 3".

    Color blotter that shows bottle of product and glass full with caption "Ask For / Cherry Blossoms / A Blooming Good Drink".

46. Clausen Beer / Lady serving two men
    Trade card for H. Clausen and Son Brewing Co, Phoenix Bottling Co. New York. The image is of men in victorian dress being served some beer by a maid alongside the ocean. There is also a nice image of a Clausen bottle of Champagne Export Lager Beer. The card measures 5" by almost 3". Card in good condition with a tear middle bottom going through "Phoenix". Back has advertising text.

    Color front shows before and after scene of family at dinner. Before they all look weak/frail/thin, after strong/happy/plumper. Very good condition with clipped corner and back has album residue.

    Color front shows view of the Capital with people and carriages in foreground. Back has list of all its cures and remedies.

51. Coussen's Lightning Liniment / Mother giving bottle to baby Front Back
    Color front shows mother administering bottle of medicine to her baby. Back has advertising text including picture of two birds. Healthy bird is saying to the sickly bird "If your lungs are weak take Honey of Tar" which is another Coussen's product. Fine condition.

52. Cudahy's Essence of Pepsin / Wife administering product to sick hubby
    Attractive quack medicine 1893 calendar trade card, advertises Cudahy's Essence Of Pepsin. Product package pictured & dose being administered to patient. Calendar on reverse.

53. Cushman's Menthol Inhaler
    Unusual two-sided Victorian Tradecard for Cushman's Menthol Inhaler which measures 4 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches and is in very good condition with only a small crease of the lower right corner; no tears or rubs. The reverse side is also in good shape and contains a litho of a Victorian girl using the inhaler as well as textual advertising which reads in part "conveys enough Menthol to the delicate membranes and nerves throughout the Head, Throat, and Lungs to produce the cool and exhilerating effect peculiar to Oil Peppermint, affording quick relief of inflammatory diseases; destroying disease germs and miasm, and curing diseases mentioned on the other side of this card." SOLD.

54. Cushman's Menthol Inhaler / Girl by steps with inhaler Front Back
    Color front shows little girl on steps and ready for bed. Caption reads "Oh Mamma! May I take the MENTHOL INHALER with me please?" Fine condition. Card is slightly off center but not trimmed. Much rarer card than the one above.

The reverse side, although in good condition, has no text or graphics. The display side (shown) has no creases, tears, or rubs with some minimal smudging of little or no impact. All borders and corners are sharp.

Among animals, it is useful for such things as curb, sprint, bony tumors and strained tendons. As a human remedy, among other things, it took care of rheumatism, sprains and sore throats. Pull the lady out of the envelope and she is shown to you in her underwear with a bottle of Whiskey on the table, and in one hand she is holding a glass of whiskey and in the other, her dress. The card has "Patented June 26th 1900" printed at the top on the back. Card shows a lot of wear and creases which is typical from use, but pictures and wording are intact so would rate this card very good condition.

Back has B/W engraving of a Rogers Group plaster statue called "A MATTER OF OPINION." Text below the statue reads "When Doctor’s disagree, take Hoptonic". Card is on light paper measuring 5 x 6 1/4". It does not appear to have ever been mounted in an album thus no glue marks or discoloration. Card is in fine condition with just some minor creases.

    2. Hop Tonic / Boy Cherub with Bottle over Earth
       Color front shows boy winged cherub holding bottle of product while flying above earth. Caption reads "Health to the World". Back has advertising text in form of letter "To The Public" from the Walter S. Hicks, the sole owner of "Hop Bitters" and "Hops and Malt Bitters" and the General Manager of Hoptonic Co. Letter goes on to say "Hoptonic has two very important elements: It is almost a sure cure for many fatal diseases of this age, ...". Back also shows picture of Hoptonic Co. building. Card is in excellent condition with sone age stains on back and a light crease.

The reverse side has extensive blue printed advertising for Dr. Hunter's Family Medicines including Dr. Hunter's Expectorant, Dr. Hunter's Worm Chocolates (!), Dr. Hunter's Compound Fluid Extract of Sarsaparilla, Dr. Hunter's Liver Pills, and Dolorine ("the magic headache and neuralgia pill"). This Victorian remedy tradecard measures 4 3/4 by 3 1/4 inches.

     Color front show little girl presenting product to her Grandma. Caption reads "Grandma, here's a bottle of Dr. Jones' Taxicum Tonic to make you well." Back has advertising text that claims product is a "sure cure for Dyspepsia, Indigestion or any other Weakness caused by Disease, Exhaustive Mental or Physical Labor, or any Indiscretion." Card is crisp and clean - never been in a scrapbook.

On the back appears two newspaper clippings, one for HERB DRINK by Lanes Family Medicine and the other for KEMP'S BALSAM which reads

        Do you cough - Don't Delay - Take Kemp's Balsam - The Best Cough Cure It Cures colds, coughs, sore throat, croup, influenze, whooping cough, bronchitis and asthma. A certain cure for consumption in the first stages, and a sure relief in advanced stages. Use at once. You will see the excellent effect after taking the first dose. Sold by dealers everywhere.         The piece is in great condition with only some slight paper discoloration. Piece measures 3 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches.

        Color front reads "To-Night you may need one of these articles" and shows a picture of Kemp's Balsam (bottle and box), Lane's Family Medicine (box), and Lane's Cold Tablets (box). Excellent conditon. Size 3x6".

     • Kendall's Spavin Cure / Black Humor: Horse Race
       Rand McNally Co. copyright secured image for Kendall's Spavin Cure (as printed on back) with the famous "Hi! Dat hoss can jist fly now" card. A black jockey holds on to the rejuvenated steed as the horse zooms down the track in record time (as posted on sign) in rear). A gawking black boy looks on in amazement. The horse even has tossed off two of its horseshoes, it was going so darn fast! Printing on bottom of card front is in the familiar black jive language. Colors good. Back of card has a lengthy description of the remedy, made by B. J. Kendall & Co., Proprietors, Enosburgh Falls, VT., U.S.A. Verso has some glue-removal traces. Overall condition of card is VG despite its thin stock and normal wear.

     • Kendall's Spavin Cure / Black Humor: Horse Race No PIC Yet
       Same picture as card above, but advertising is slightly different on back: this one has "Read Proof of Wonderful Cures". Borders have been slightly trimmed but overall card is in very good condition.

     • Kendall's Spavin Cure / Horse and two men at fence
       Color front shows two men and a horse at a fence. It is slightly yellowed, has some age spots and a few slight creases on the corners but otherwise in good condition.

     • Kendall's Spavin Cure / Horse pulling man
       Front shows color picture of horse pulling man with dog biting man's trousers. Caption reads "Going for Kendall's Spavin Cure" and "Whoa now, ye baste! Be jabers, where is that boy Sambo with Kendall's Spavin Cure? If he don't make himself lively the brutes will tear out me front and rear ends." Back has advertising text and testimonials. The borders have been trimmed slightly and there is a 1/2" tear in middle of top side. Also shows aging, but otherwise fine condition.

122. Dr. Kilmer's Ocean-Weed Heart Remedy / Kids sailing Boat
     Tradecard for Dr. Kilmer's Ocean-Weed Heart Remedy, measures 5 1/8 by 3 inches. Shows two children on the beach sailing a handmade boat. The sail of the boat is a piece of paper that reads, "Use Dr. Kilmer's Ocean-Weed Heart Remedy Binghamton N.Y. U.S.A.". Some age discoloring and a small piece of the top right corner is creased, otherwise this is in excellent condition. The back of the card shows a drawing of a heart and reads "Corrects, Regulates, Cures Scrofula Salt Rheum Palsy, All Blood Humor Erysipelas". SOLD

     The man is telling the lady, take them for they will do you good. The card is in VG condition. Its not trimmed, no tears or creases.

124. King's 25 Cent Bitters / Man in chair with bottle
     Color front shows man sitting in chair while holding bottle of product. Company from Rochester, NY. Excellent condition with just a dot of paper scuff on background. Back is blank except for dealer stamp for City Drug Store in Dunkirk, NY.

125. Knapp's Root Beer Extract / Before-After Before After
     On one side the girl tells the boy who's toting a bottle of "Imposition Root Beer" (which looks a lot like Hire's Root Beer - the competition). Front reads: "Take it back, you careless boy! How could you choose it! Unless you bring the very best, you know I will refuse it - Return it to the store at once, and say we cannot use it!"
     On the reverse the boy is carrying a box of Knapp's and the verse reads: "Now you have it, this is Knapp's: thank you for your trouble! I'd prefer it over all tho' the price were double! But it's cheap as well as good, and so little bother - When Knapp's Root Beer can be found I will use no other."
     Hard to see in the scan but there are door and window cut-outs that work with the illustration on each side. 5" x 3", in very good condition aside from a couple of small spots.

126. Kosmos Fragrant Disinfectant and Germ Killer / Card shows bottle
     Red & white trade card that pictures bottle of product and reads "KOSMOS, the fragrant disinfectant and disease germ killer. For the prevention and cure of diphtheria, sore throat, chronic sores and Ulcerations and as a disinfectant and deodorizer for the sick - room. Egyptian Chemical Co, Manufacturers, 43 Lincoln Street, Boston Mass For the sale by all jobbers." Back is blank. Very good condition with only some brown age stains.

127. Kraus & Wertheim Co / Folder with nude?! lady
     Color front shows gentleman with what appears at first to be a nude lady, but fold open the two flaps and you see she just has a flesh colored dress. Man is holding bottle of product. Back advertises "Kraus & Wertheim Co ... High Grade Wines, Liquors, Bottle Beer and Union Made Cigars."

128. Kress's Fever Tonic / Girl offers bottle to sick boy
     Color front shows girl offerring bottle to a sick boy who is wrapped in a blanket with his feet in a bucket of hot water. Caption reads "Put aside the bath and try this, Willie!" Back has advertising text. Card is 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" and is in very good condition. The Kress Fever Tonic Co. is from St Louis, MO.

        Color front shows drunk man talking to snowman in woods. Caption reads "'Excush me! Are you afraid to go home too?" A 1/2" long tear exists in the word 'Are'. Otherwise good condition.

        B&W front shows baby boy crying while playful pup has paws on his pottie bowl. A bottle for product is on dresser. Back shows large bottle and has advertising text. Very good condition.

132. Lea & Perrins' Sauce / Butlet putting bottle on table Front Back
     Victorian advertising trade card for LEA & PERRINS' SAUCE. Measures 3 7/8" x 5 3/4". Heavy stock paper, not flimsy. Lovely color lithograph scene on front of a sumpteous table and a waiter with a bottle of sauce. Advertising LEA & PERRINS' SAUCE on back (see photo). Really beautiful advertising trade card in very good condition. Normal expected surface soiling. There is a thin white line that extends from waiter's ear to table ; have examined with a jeweler's 10x loop and does not appear to be a scratch. Rather appears to be a flaw in printing process, a color miss. One pinprick on back side near center bottom edge. Found loose in a circa 1885 Victorian scrap book, never glued in. Fresh from an attic. No tears, touch-ups or repairs.

133. Le Page's Liquid Glue / Stuck Man being pulled by two policemen
     Front has humorous color picture of man who is glued to couch while two policemen try to pull him free. Sign over couch reads "No Loafers Allowed Here". Front caption reads "This man used Le Page's Liquid Glue in the wrong place. Hold on! It's no use pullin' I'm stuck with Le Pages Glue." A bottle of the glue is shown split on the couch. There is also a case of the product shown. Back has full advertising text including closeup of labeled bottle. Very good condition.

     Image of Vicotian parlor courtship turned funny, with great text in border, like: "She's got him now boys!" Lady says, "I've found a way at last, dear George, to make you STICK at home evenings." Good reverse advertising. FRESH, GREAT condition. Aprox. 5.5" x 3.25".

     Color front shows lady combing her beautiful flowing hair while a balding man is pouring some of the product into his hand. In center is pictured a large picture of embossed bottle. Back has advertising text. Card is slightly trimmed and part of top right corner is missing but otherwise in very good condition.

     Front cover shows little girl with bottle of product. Front caption reads "Malt-Nutrine, You Need This, The Greatest of Tonics." This booklet contains wonderful color pictures of Victorian scenes. Booklet shows pictures of different people using product: doctor, lawyer, prospector, preacher, actor, ... Malt-Nutrine was an Anheuser-Bush product as shown on top of each page. Copyright 1896. Very fine condition.

141. Maltine / Cherub with large bottle
     Color front shows nude winged cherub hold up large labeled bottle. Back has advertising text that explains "Maltine plain is a pure extract of malted barley, wheat, and oats. It is a FOOD, rich in bone-producing, fat-making and strengthening elements, and is invaluable in securing sound and healthy digestion." Back then lists some of the different ways to use Maltine, one of which is "with Pepsin and Pancreatine. The surest cure known for dyspepsia". Fine condition with slight corner crease.

142. Mansfield's Capillaris / Brunette Girl in Hat
     Victorian tradecard for Mansfield's Capillaris Remedy for diseases of the scalp. The display side (see photo) is in excellent condition with no rubs, creases, or tears. The reverse side is also in very good condition, with some yellowing and stains but no glue marks, and reads in part "for Dandruff, a cure for every kind of Scalp Disease and Humor, has never failed to stop the hair from falling, will cure baldness where all other articles have failed...". This Victorian remedy tradecard measures 5 by 3 1/4 inches.

     • McLane's Vermifuge / Drug Store Display
       Color front shows druggist presenting bottle to couple with a dog. Lady asks "Have you the genuine C. McLane Liver Pills?" Druggist replies "We have please observe the signature of C. McLane and Fleming Bros. On this box without which none can be genuine." You can see various bottles and boxes in the glass display. Lithographer signed: Shober and Carqueville Litho. Co., Chicago, Illinois. Very Good with slight corner wear, a crease in the upper left (of the obverse) corner and very small tear on the lower bottom right. Some foxing.

     • McLane's Vermifuge / Woman with child on shoulder
       Color trade card for Dr. J. H. McLean’s Strengthening Cordial and Blood Purifier. The front of the card depicts a lovely Victorian woman with a small child on her shoulder. The colors are vivid. The card measures approx. 6 1/2” by 4 1/2”. Three corners are a tiny bit bent. The reverse side describes Dr. McLean’s cordial and blood purifier at $1.00 per bottle.

     • McLane's Vermifuge / Boy unwrapping package
       Front has color litho of boy unwrapping a package. Back has interesting testimonial from mother whose child was dying and doctors didn't know why, so she gave him McLane's Vermifuge and the child passed 72 worms and was well again. Card in very good shape with one small dog ear in lower right corner. SOLD.

     • M'Lanes Liver Pills / Lady on Luggage
       Card is in excellent shape. No tears or smudges. The back has all the normal advertisement found on these cards and a few of the words have faded so they are hard to read.. The bottom front reads "Hellman, Haas & Co. Importers and Wholesale Grocers, Dr. C. M'Lane's Liver Pills and Vermifuge. Los Angeles, Cal." Some of the back reads "Liver Pills stand preeminent as a means of restoring a disorganized Liver to healthy action; hence the great celebrity they have attained". This card measures appx 3" x 4 1/2". SOLD.
